Thoughtful Thursday

So what will you do today? I challenge you to do something, anything thoughtful and totally unexpected. Since I've been sick and pretty much on house arrest, per the main man's instructions; I've been doing a lot of blog reading. I've read so many stories of families that are being torn apart by various ailments. One story in particular has tugged at my heart strings. Cora's story is so hard to process. It amazes me how a family can remain so positive in the midst of so much heartache. Hug your kids a little tighter today just cause you can, and don't forget that thoughtful act.

Boy Have I Been Sick! and Very First Give-away!

I've been so sick that I haven't done much more that lay on the couch for the last 3 weeks. I am feeling much better now though. Its amazing what the right antibiotics and cough syrup can do for you. We have a busy week ahead of us though. Starting tomorrow with St. Patrick's Day! I don't know why but I've always loved that holiday. It will be our first day back to mile cat since I got sick so it will be great to see our friends again. Then Sunday happens to be a very special day. My Baby Turns 4! I can't believe that she's 4 already. She's so eager to grow up too. She is constantly stealing my lip gloss and insists that she wear a dress every day. Where does the time go. I took some pictures of her roller skating this weekend.

A few months ago when I found out that the "Mothers Cookies" company had closed their doors I was so sad because we love their frosted animal cookies. I remember getting them when I was a kid and my kids love them too so it was very sad to see that they would no longer be on the shelves. But Nabisco has attempted to recreate them and well they aren't exactly the same they are very close in taste and texture. Check your local grocery store for them.

Last but not least I have been meaning to do a give away to "hopefully" boost my blog hits and comments. So here goes. In honor of Kylee's 4th birthday. I will be giving away a monogrammed Camera Strap cover. Like the ones pictured below. All you have to do to enter is leave a comment between now and Sunday at midnight and I will have Kylee draw the winner and I'll announce it on Monday! Good luck!

Emma's New Tooth.

Last Saturday I was brushing Emma's teeth and I noticed that there was a hole in one. I figured that she somehow had lost a filling so I made an appointment with the dentist and took her in on Tuesday. Wow! What an ordeal that turned out to be. It wasn't a missing filling; she had at some point fallen and broke the tooth and it had rotted. So they had to do a crown. She wouldn't sit still and I had Kylee with me so I had to go out to the waiting room. As soon as I walked out the door Em went into total freak out mode so I called my MIL and she came and sat with Kylee in the waiting room so that I could be with Emma. They ended up having to put her in the little papoose thing. Oh it was horrible. She is doing much better now though. She let me take these pictures of what she calls her new "sparkle" tooth.

Why Oh Why Do They Do These Things??

A few months back I bought the girls these really cute dressers and a shelf that were used but just needed a coat of paint to make them perfect to match the girls bed. Well I was making dinner the other day and Rick and I hear this horrifying crash in the girls room. We go flying in there to find this.

Emma took it upon herself to climb the shelf and put money in her piggy bank with out asking mom for help. Now mind you I explained several times what would happen if they climbed it. But you know Emma she doesn't believe a word that comes out of my mouth. The white piggy bank is Cassi's which as you can see is completely busted. The pink one is Kylee's and you can't see in the picture but its missing the the legs on the left side. Emma's Piggy was the only one to survive the fall. Imagine that. So as punishment she had to take money out of her piggy and buy her sisters both new banks. Luckily we were able to find the exact ones that they had before. So all is right with the world. Oh and please please please ignore all the other junk on the floor in this picture, its the kids room so its always thrashed.

Happy Valentines Day!

Happy Valentines Day! We did Cassi's Party, which was a ton of fun! I made Mrs. Shuck this awesome Treat that looked like a sundae but was made of M&M's and Salt water taffy. They turned out so cute so we made one for our friend Katrina too.

The View

When I stepped outside of Cassi's classroom on Friday I looked across the yard and I could actually see the mountains! I think it's been months since I've seen that view. So I loaded the girls up and took them up to my favorite "thinking" spot. The mountains looked gorgeous from there.

Sportsman Show.

Last weekend was the annual Sportsman and RV show. We go every year and the kids always have a blast. The girls get to fish in a big swimming pool. lol... We always see all kinds of stuff unfortunately this year rick was manning the camera so the shots of the girls with their fish didn't come out but I did get some other shots of the day.

Disneyland with Uncle Ray

My uncle Ray lives in Colorado and we see him every few years. Well he called and said that he and his family were going to be staying at the Disneyland hotel for a week and since we hadn't seen him in about 4 years the girls and I made a trip to see them. When we got there he already had our tickets for Disneyland. I hadn't planned on going into the park because we had just gone a couple weeks before but there was no way I could turn down his generosity. It was raining cats and dogs but we got some ponchos and the girls got to ride the monorail into the park and they had a blast! Emma and Kylee talked Uncle Ray into carrying them through the park. lol...I got to Visit with Sharon who is the sweetest lady I've ever met. Very down-to-earth and easy to talk to. Their daughters Toni and Caroline are Beautiful inside and out. It was such a wonderful visit. We spent half the day in the park and then we went back to the hotel, where the kids swam in one of the heated pools lol...yes it was still raining. Then we ate dinner at Goofy's Kitchen. That was Awesome. The kids got pictures with all the characters and the food was amazing. We had a wonderful visit and I think Daddy was very happy to have us home when we came cruising in at midnight. Here are some pictures from our visit.
