Happy New Year!!!!

Happy New Years Guys!!!
We were all asleep by midnight but we did go to the snow on New Years day. We had a Blast!! The girls were so excited. Daddy even bought them a new sled for the trip. It took a while but Emma got the hang of sliding down the slope on the sled and even Rick went down a couple times.

Disneyland

OMG!!! We had SO much fun but were SO happy to come home. lol... We got there when the park opened at 8am, Got our tickets and a stroller and headed into the park. We hit Finding Nemo, The Rocket ride where you spin up in the air. Alice in Wonderland, The Tea Cup ride, Its a Small World and Toon Town all before lunch. And the park really wasn't all that busy. We honestly didn't spend more than 5 minutes in line until...... About two o'clock the park imploded with people. We could barely walk down any of the paths. We were able to get to the restaurant we wanted to eat at finally and had a yummy lunch. If you get the chance when your there check out The French Quarter. They have the best chowder ever and they serve it in sourdough bread bowls. YUM!!! After lunch we tried to get on Pirates of the Caribbean....yeah right the line was wrapped clear down the street. The same with the haunted mansion. So we went to the Tiki Room. Its always a hit. The girls love the singing birds. Emma talked to the birds most of the way through it. She wanted to take one home. After the Tiki Room we tried a few different things but it was just too busy so we headed back to Toon Town and that place was even more packed than the rest of the parks so we got the girls their hats and rode the carousel, and on the way out we stopped and got the girls the cutest stuffed princess dolls and hit my favorite candy shop. Then we headed home. We were there by 7:30. Had some good ol' Taco Bell and off to bed it was for all of us. All thing considered it was a pretty great day.
Here are some of the shots I got while we were there.

Emma's 5th Birthday

Emma Turned 5 on the 17th. I can't believe she's 5. Time sure does fly doesn't it. She's grown so much in the last year it amazes me. She's always been articulate but I swear she's learned at least 100 new words this year. Some more choice than others. lol.. She's grown about 4 inches and gained about 6lbs. But what impresses me most about this kid is the fact that she is hands down the best big sister I've ever seen. She is so good to Kylee. Loving and affectionate and way overprotective. That's my girl. We had some much planned for her birthday. We were supposed to go out to lunch. Go to Nana Valerie's work for a quick visit. Go shopping for a new jogging suit for the Birthday Girl. Bake and decorate a Barbie cake, and sing and open presents with Daddy that night. But...at 3 am Kylee woke up with the stomach flu, followed shortly by Cassi in the same boat. So all of our fun for the day was canceled. Now did Emma cry and whine? Nope she helped me take care of her sisters. She brought towels and blankets and was the best helper mommy could ever have asked for. I did order Emma's favorite food from her favorite restaurant and had it delivered, and we did make her cake and sing. She loved her Gifts. Daddy got her a all terrain tricycle with big huge wheels and I got her a custom remote control car from Ridemakerz. She is also going to Disneyland the day after Christmas to celebrate her Big Birthday.

Christmas with the Spoiled Royal Girls

Wow! It has been a long time since I've had time to sit down and update. I thought that it would be cool to make all of our Christmas gifts this year. I'm pleading temporary insanity! Because I was just plain old nuts for doing that. I worked right up to the day of Christmas. I will never do that again. All that work coupled with the fact that I was sick made for a pretty miserable holiday. One plus side Rick bought me gifts this year. He never does that. He got me a real pair of Uggs. So I can get rid of my Costco knockoffs. 2 sets of very comfy pj's and some kick around shorts. The girls of course made out like bandits. They got all kinds of cool stuff. Cassi got the Moon Sand she's been dying for. That stuff is a Huge mess; and did you know that it will eat the finish off of wood surfaces? It will! And it did! Cassi got some on our wood floors and when I went to sweep it up it was stuck to the floor. So I got out a rag and proceeded to try and scrape it off the floor. To my horror the finish came up with the moon sand! Oh; I could have died. Other than that the girls got some pretty fun toys. Emma got roller skates. That was a riot! Only after she ate it a few times did she decide that maybe it would be a good idea to wear the knee and elbow pads that came with the skates. lol... Kylee got a Disney Princess 3 wheel scooter. She loves it! It even came with a basket to hold the hand made dolly I made her. Then Rick opened his present from the girls. They got him a Camo print Carhartt jacket. Which he needed desperately. His other one is getting really gross.

All and all Christmas was successful. Rick and I made Christmas dinner and after I cleaned up the girls and I went to my moms to exchange gifts but mostly to see my grandparents who had come to visit. We only see them a couple times a year so its always exciting to see them. My grandma Kay is the one who inspired my love of sewing. She's amazing! You should see some of the stuff she's made! Grandpa's always quiet but I know that he likes to just sit back and take it all in. I have to say this Christmas was one of the best visits I've had with them. Everyone else went home before they got there so I actually had my grandparents and my mom all to myself (well...and the kids too. but you know what I mean). That never happens! So it was an awesome visit. My mom gave me a beautiful necklace, Its a silver chain with a puffed heart pendant. But the cool part is that the heart jingles; and it came with a sweet poem explaining that every time it jingles it is to remind me how much she loves me. which made me tear up a bit. I don't think she has a clue how much I love her; and how blessed I feel that she is my mom.

Here are some pictures of all the festivities!

My Spin on Elf on the Shelf...

I saw this cool thing called Elf on the Shelf about a week ago on AGD. I Loved the Concept of it and you all know that if it even has a remote chance of making my kids behave, I'm all over it. So I went hunting...I called all the local stores that might have it. None did. So online it had to be. I checked several online sites and the cheapest I found it... thirty bucks!!! Now there is no way that the Main Man is going to let me spend thirty dollars on an Elf. Can you picture his eyes bugging out of his head?? lol... So this is Cherish(which I paid $5 for at vons )... Cherish is Comets wife and Santa sent her to our house to keep and eye on these kiddo's. Every night she goes home to report to the Big Man and then heads back to us for the day. The girls are Eating her up!! Every time Kylee starts to do something she's not supposed to I hear her say "oh no....cherry(cherish) will see me" and she stops!!! How great is that?!?! Too bad she can't live with us forever.

Emma's New Hat

Emma got a Hat at Targets Black Friday Sale. She wore it once and it fell apart. When we tried to return it target wouldn't let us get our money back so we got another one. That one fell apart too. So this time we got a different style. Lets hope we have better luck with this one and shame on Target for not standing by their Customers. Lord knows I spend enough money there. Anyway.....Take the High Road Jessica, Its better to just let it go. So here are some pictures of Emma in her cool new hat. Like the one she saw Uncle DJ wear (she told me that when she picked it out) .

Christmas Fun

Tonight we decorated the Christmas tree, and put out the rest of the decorations. I have to finish the kids stockings tonight then I'll be able to post them. The kids had a blast. I let them make pizza's for dinner. Which is always a hit. Then they scarfed them down and were tearing into my boxes of decorations. lol...I had to fix some of the decorations after they went to bed because 95% of them were on the bottom 2 feet of the tree. We even got the the Main Man involved. Didn't last long but hey progress is progress.

Bye Bye Ivy....

Well she just became too much to handle. Our Beloved dog now has a new home. It has become impossible to keep her in the yard. We even Completely enclosed the backyard and she broke right through the lattice we put. Jumped fences higher than we ever thought possible. We caught her across the street stalking some little pomeranian puppies and we knew she had to go. Luckily our neighbors mom was able to take her. I'll miss my sweet dog that used to love to sleep on my porch. :(
